Are you or your loved ones struggling to manage emotions? Does it feel like your family is in turmoil? Are you and your loved ones having difficulty seeing eye to eye?
You are not the only one. On average, 1 in 5 Americans is struggling with mental health struggles, whether it be individual mental health issues or struggles in relationships. Though it may feel like you’ve tried everything under the sun, there is hope for change.
I’m a New Jersey Child Therapist
Is your child struggling with their emotions? I can relate–as a child, I had no idea the effects my anxiety disorder would have on my social life, emotional well-being, and future. With me, your child will have someone who can sympathize with their challenges. They will have someone who has dealt with the effects of difficult emotions like anxiety, sadness, and social struggles.
Whether your child is experiencing normative life changes or coming to terms with a potential diagnosis, I’m here to help your family. With your child, we will explore the origins of certain symptoms and behaviors. From there, we focus on coping skills, perspective-taking, and communication techniques.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
-Albus Dumbledore
We hold more power over our happiness than we can even imagine. Choosing to work with me means enlisting an advocate—one who is dedicated to:
- Comprehending the essence of who you are
- Recognizing your inherent strength
- Amplifying the aspirations that led you to seek therapy
- Staying by your side to navigate life, with you steering the course at every turn
- Ensuring that you, your partner, and your family receive optimal care tailored to your unique needs.
Therapy with me will be a collaborative journey where we work together to explore your concerns, set goals, and develop strategies for positive change. Your insights, experiences, and preferences will guide our discussions and shape the direction of our sessions. I’ll provide support, guidance, and expertise, but ultimately, you’re the expert on your own life, and together, we’ll navigate your path toward greater well-being and fulfillment.
I Also Provide Couples Therapy in New Jersey
Are you and your family having trouble adjusting to life changes? I’ve been there. I understand the struggles of new parenthood and the overwhelm of life-changing events in a partnership. After becoming a mother in my early twenties, while navigating school and investing in a romantic relationship, I thought I could do it all. But, in reality, it was much more of a struggle than I ever anticipated. My partner and I were navigating a new baby while also juggling school, careers, our romantic relationship, and our extended family. This left us almost at the end of our rope. What got us through this tough time was communication and reminding ourselves of why we became partners in the first place. We learned how to ask for help and find strength in our partnership.
How do you know if your relationship needs therapy?
Working with a third party can help your family cope with, and adapt to, life’s biggest changes. Sessions with a couples counselor give you a deeper understanding of relationships–including the one you have with yourself. As a relationship therapist, I’m passionate about working with every aspect of relationships–the good, the bad, and the funny. Working with me means learning communication skills, practicing coping techniques, and finding ways to get unstuck in life’s toughest moments. We’ll get through those difficult, uncomfortable conversations and situations together in the therapy room.
Starting In Person Therapy Near Edison, NJ
If you know where you want to go in therapy, I’ll take your lead. But if you’re not sure where to start, I’ll help you create a blueprint for change. I am passionate about guiding clients through the therapy process. I aim to understand the individual needs of my clients, ensuring a genuine understanding of your lived experiences.
Sessions with me include a light-hearted atmosphere and the ability to be yourself. Therapy doesn’t need to be seen as a scary, intimidating experience. I strive for my clients to be their authentic selves with me. It is safe to let everything out in sessions with me; tears, laughs, anger, sadness, frustration, you name it.
I provide a nonjudgmental, safe space for my clients. My therapy room is a comfortable environment for clients to express their emotions. In turn, this allows for effective treatment and strong therapeutic bonds. My sessions include developing coping skills, creating healthy boundaries, and diving into the complex issues of families, couples, and individuals.
Education And Experience
I am a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I graduated from Capella University with a BS in General Psychology. I then completed my MS in Marriage & Family Therapy from Capella University, with a minor in Contemporary Theory of Addictive Behaviors and Play Therapy.
I have additional experience treating anxiety, marital problems, depression, behavioral problems, parenting issues, and anger management.
In my free time, I enjoy aimlessly walking the aisles of Barnes & Noble with an iced coffee in hand, purchasing books like I don’t have three book shelves at home filled to capacity. I also enjoy fostering my inner child with fun activities such as arcades, amusement parks, and interactive museums with the help of my family.
I offer tele-health and in-person sessions to clients in New Jersey. Getting help is a difficult thing to do and you are taking the first step by reading my profile. With my help, you will not only have a trained therapist, but also a confidant to walk you through anything.
